About the role
You’ll write the tutorials, guides and documentation that show developers and data teams how to get live platform data with Upscrape. Every piece starts from real requests and real results: you run the API, check what comes back, and turn it into something a reader can follow and reuse. Search engines and AI assistants send readers to pages that answer a real question well. Your job is to write those pages.
You’ll work directly with the founders and own what you publish from the first idea to how it performs after it goes live.
About Upscrape
Upscrape turns the platforms businesses track into APIs that software and AI agents can call: commerce and grocery apps, social networks, maps and reviews, job boards and ad libraries, more than 50 in all. Every endpoint has a published schema and a fixed price per request, over REST or through MCP for AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.
We’re a small remote team, founded in 2024. Everyone here owns a real part of the company, from the plan to the result.
What you’ll do
- Write tutorials and guides with working code. Price trackers, stock monitors, agent workflows and data pipelines built on live Upscrape endpoints, in Python and JavaScript, that a reader can copy and run.
- Keep the documentation clear and correct. Quickstarts, API guides and the MCP setup for AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. When the product changes, the docs change with it.
- Write use-case and comparison pages. Answer what buyers ask before they choose a tool: what the data looks like, what it costs, what works and what doesn’t. Honest, specific and backed by real output.
- Check everything against the product. Run every example yourself before it ships. If a number, a field or a claim can’t be verified, it doesn’t go in.
- Choose topics from real demand. Work from what people search for and ask AI assistants, and check how each piece performs after it goes live.
What we’re looking for
- You’ve published technical writing: tutorials, docs or guides for a developer tool, an API or a data product. Show us your best pieces.
- You can read and write working code in Python or JavaScript, and you’re comfortable calling an API from the command line.
- You explain complex things in plain words, and you cut what the reader doesn’t need.
- You check your facts. If a number or a claim can’t be verified, it doesn’t go in.
- You understand how search engines and AI answers choose their sources, and you write for people first.
Nice to have
- You’ve worked with web data: scraping, data pipelines or analytics.
- You’ve built something with AI agents or MCP.
- You can make a clear diagram or chart to explain what words alone can’t.
What this role isn’t
- Social media and distribution. That’s the Content Marketer.
- Short marketing copy with nothing to run or check.
- Outbound sales messages. That’s the Business Development Representative.
