About the role
You’ll start the conversations that become Upscrape’s first customers. Our first market is brands and agencies that sell on India’s quick-commerce apps: teams that check prices, stock and search rankings by hand today. You’ll research each company, use Upscrape to find something real about their own products, and open with that finding. When someone is interested, you book a call with the founders.
This is our first sales hire. You’ll work directly with the founders, who run the calls and close the deals, and you’ll help shape how Upscrape sells from the first message onward. You’re measured on conversations started and good calls booked, not on emails sent.
About Upscrape
Upscrape turns the platforms businesses track into APIs that software and AI agents can call: commerce and grocery apps, social networks, maps and reviews, job boards and ad libraries, more than 50 in all. Every endpoint has a published schema and a fixed price per request, over REST or through MCP for AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.
We’re a small remote team, founded in 2024. Everyone here owns a real part of the company, from the plan to the result.
What you’ll do
- Build the target list. Find brands and agencies that sell on quick-commerce and delivery apps, work out which apps they use and who owns the problem, and keep the list accurate.
- Open with real data. Before you write, run a short Upscrape check on the company’s own products: a price, a stock gap or a search position. Your first message shows them something they didn’t know.
- Write and follow up. Personal emails and LinkedIn messages that sound like a person, followed up at the right time and stopped when someone says no.
- Book good calls. When a prospect is interested, qualify the need and book a discovery call with the founders, with notes that make the call useful.
- Answer new sign-ups and enquiries. Reply within a working day, find out what each person needs, and bring the promising ones into a conversation.
- Keep the pipeline honest. Log every conversation, report each week on which messages get replies and which companies move forward, and tell us what prospects keep asking for.
What we’re looking for
- You’ve done outbound for a B2B product, ideally software or data, and you can show messages you wrote and what they achieved.
- You know how Indian consumer brands and e-commerce teams work, or you learn a new market quickly.
- You write short, specific messages that sound like a person, not a template.
- You’re organised: every follow-up happens on time, and nothing falls through.
- You’re comfortable learning a technical product. You’ll run requests and read results, but you don’t need to code.
Nice to have
- You’ve sold to e-commerce, quick-commerce or consumer brand teams.
- You’ve worked at an agency that runs marketplaces or online sales for brands.
- You’ve sold a data product or an API.
What this role isn’t
- Closing deals and negotiating price. The founders run those calls with you.
- Buying contact lists or sending bulk email. Every message is researched and personal.
- Writing blog posts or social media. That’s the Content Marketer.
